A new PlayStation Showcase on the horizon? Do not get excited
Millie A stated that a PlayStation Showcase was supposedly planned for next October 20 and that the confirmation of the event was going to be on October 11. However, she noted that the announcement was not made due to ongoing investigations into Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard.
The informant says that Sony delayed the event so as not to fuel the discussion about the exclusive content of each platform, a central theme of the investigations of the Competition and Markets Authority of the United Kingdom (CMA). On the other hand, she pointed out that the advertisements of Silent Hill and Kojima’s next announcement were going to be part of the event.

However, not everyone agrees with his position. Tom Henderson, one of the most reliable sources in the industry, downplayed Millie A’s statements and stated that it is a simple prediction. He added that it’s unlikely anyone currently has accurate information about PlayStation’s plans for an upcoming event.
“A new day, a new rumor about the PlayStation Showcase. Honestly, I don’t think any insider, journalist or whatever people are called these days knows when the PlayStation Showcase will actually be. They are always predictions based on past events, upcoming events and embargo dates,” Henderson said.
The informant believes that there is the possibility of seeing a Showcase in the remainder of the year, especially for all the games that PlayStation is preparing for 2023 and the premiere of PS VR2. Despite this, he clarified that he does not know for sure.
