Connecting Platforms and Devices with Calm Technology

Samsung’s vision of seamless connectivity is inspired by the philosophy of Calm Technology, in which devices work together instantly, so consumers can save time on setup and get the experience out of the box. To make this vision a reality, Samsung reinvented SmartThings and its connected services and associations, including Hub Everywhere from Samsung, extending its capabilities to the entire smart home with audio and visual data, as well as SmartThings Energy, SmartThings Pet Y Smart Things Cooking. Samsung also partnered with Philips Hue to integrate Philips Hue Sync directly into Galaxy devices for smart home lighting to match the music.

The seamless experience will extend beyond the Samsung ecosystem through SmartThings integration with Matter and Samsung membership in Home Connectivity Alliance. Google and Samsung have worked together to enable users to find and link their devices across platforms by creating a multi-management feature on Matter devices. Collaboration will bring more devices and users to the connected home in the future.

Bixby has been more deeply integrated with SmartThings, a tool for developers to build smarter voice UI experiences. As Samsung’s flagship voice assistant platform, Bixby has evolved to become the on-device AI solution capable of controlling individual Galaxy devices as well as the cross-device experience across the entire Samsung ecosystem. with the new Bixby Home Studio, developers can now create differentiated and personalized experiences for the SmartThings platform. In addition, Bixby will be even more available to users with support for Latin American Spanish from November.
